HISTORY

In the early to mid-1920's a Parsi cotton merchant Mr P. D. Patel sent his six sons to Cambridge University to get their degrees after finishing school in Bombay.

While they were in Cambridge to provide for their living accommodation Mr Patel purchased a large house, this house was located on Lyndewode Road in Cambridge and was named Lyndewode House.

After all the brothers came back to India having completed their education the house in Cambridge was sold. In 1938 the brothers built a new building on a hill which was the site of an old light house. They named this building The Lyndewode House in memory of their old house in England where they had many happy memories of their college days. Lyndewode House in Cambridge still stands today.
